I noticed on the package it says they “provide up to 12 hours of protection”, I knew right away that I had the perfect baby to test this out since my baby girl sleeps for 12 hours each night (I know I’m super lucky!).  So I put baby girl in these diapers and was very impressed by the result.  They fit her great and I love how they hug her waist and legs providing great protection.  Baby girl sleeps for 12 hours and doesn’t leak!  Not once has she had a leak while wearing these diapers!  Even during the day when she fills her diaper more often she has not had a leak.  I am super impressed and so happy with them!  They are available in sizes 1-6.

I can hardly believe my baby girl is already 10 and a half months old. It seems like she was just born. Where did the time go?  It went by too fast for sure, but we are loving the age she is at now.  She has just learned how to pull herself up to standing and has started walking a long furniture a little.  She is on the move now, there is no stopping her!

I was pretty excited when my Tommee Tippee 360 Sealer Diaper Disposal System arrived on my doorstep! I immediately took it out of the box to set it up. It came fully assembled, all I had to do was set up the super seal refill rolls by interlocking the plastic rolls, and then seal the two ends of the plastic. Then I laid it into the diaper pail and turned the dial until the plastic was nice and tight. I was ready to start sealing smelly diapers!

The Tommee Tippee 360 Sealer Disposal System is very easy to use. All I do is open the lid, put in the diaper, close the lid to push the diaper down, and turn the dial a full 360′. The antimicrobial film seals each diaper so that the odor gets locked in. I don’t have to empty the pail until about 20-25 diapers have been sealed. When I do empty it, all I do is slide the compartment out and throw they diapers (encased in the plastic film) into the garbage. So easy and clean!!

I have a strange obsession when we are out in public and I need to change one of my children’s diaper. I am obsessed with never letting their bodies touch any part of the area I am changing them on. I mean if I do not have a changing mat with me well then I find something else to lay them on. I have laid them on my coats, their blankies, a LOT of toilet paper, paper towels, and anything else I can find that is more sanitary. Its a really pretty simple design that I thought I would be able to use for a boy or a girl even though it has a peachish pinkish color in the design. The Baby Travel Changing Mat arrived rolled up and I was right away really please by the size of it when it is rolled up. I was also happy that there was a little snap to keep it rolled up so that it would not just unfold or unroll on its own in the bag I carry it in. I do not always like to take a big diaper bag with me to places. Especially lately I have actually been in the transition of finding a new diaper bag because I wore my old one out. So the size of The Snug Bug Baby Travel Changing Mat fits perfectly in a number of my purses. I can slip a diaper or two, some travel wipes, and the Travel Changing Mat in a purse and just do some quick errands with the kids. I took a photo of the mat rolled up next to a box of Pasta Roni to show you the size proportions.

I am so incredibly overjoyed to announce that we are fully diaper free in our household!! It’s literally a miracle. 5 years ago I had my first sweet little boy,  Harrison. As a nanny in my previous years, I wasn’t too afraid of diapers. And of course there were some doosys. Some places I never imagined cleaning poop out of. But I had no idea how tough it was to have two in diapers! Exactly 11.5 months after Harrison was born, I had my second, Ruben. It was crazy! Harrison wasn’t even walking yet, and my years of 2 in diapers dragged on… It was funny how quickly I stopped using the changing table. I know some people stick to it forever, but I started changing on the floor or couch almost right away. Changing that many a day made it easier to just do it wherever I was! =) I actually tried potty training them at the same time, hoping for the best. Harrison took to it like a champ, but Ruben was fully uninterested.

I even cloth diapered for a while. Do any of you cloth diaper? My mom literally thought I was crazy. But it just made sense to me, especially when it came to not having to buy disposable diapers. I kind of cloth diapered at home, and used disposable when we went out. I think that saved me from a few outrageous stories. =) But in general I really loved it. It saved money, it kept a few diapers out of the landfills, and is there anything cuter than little baby butts in bright colors and fun patterns?

Only within the last few months has Ruben FINALLY stopped using the pull on diapers. We had tried EVERYTHING to get him to go #2 on the potty, but had absolutely no luck. Can you tell he’s my stubborn child? I have heard so many negative things about using pull on diapers, but at the end of the day, I didn’t care. I was tired of cleaning out poop from underwear. I say, do what works for you! I was willing to have it last a little longer if it meant throwing away a few less pairs of underwear… Finally, out of nowhere, he just made the decision on his own to start pooping on the potty. It’s been a joyous time in our house!

The worst experience I ever had was at a pool with the swim diapers… which really do nothing when there’s a major #2. I was so embarrassed, and with two kids so young near the water, I was all panicked and just made the most terrible mess.

The sad thing is, as happy as I am to have those days behind me, I still miss those babies, diapers and all!

Having a toddler can at times be overwhelming.  Don’t get me wrong, it is also such a fun experience.  Right now my toddler is going through the independent phase.  “I do it” or “I don’t want to” are common phrases heard in my home.

Diaper changing time is always a struggle.  She just DOES NOT want to lay still for me while I change her. Ugghh! So the Huggies Slip-On Diapers have been a life saver!

Huggies Slip-Ons Diapers do exactly as they say, they slip on.  You put them on your little one just like you would underpants.  This is great because you can do it while they are standing.  My toddler loves this!  She doesn’t feel like she has to lay still while I put her diaper on, she is standing up and ready to go.  It really makes diaper change time SO MUCH EASIER for me. These Slip-on diapers are designed with busy and active walkers in mind.

I had actually tried Huggies Slip-On Diapers with her back when she was younger.  I liked them back then, but love them even more now.  I think now that she is more active I am really seeing the benefit of these diapers.

I really like the fit they provide.  The sides are stretchy so they fit snuggly and comfortably on my daughter. 

When it is time to take them off you can slip them off or you can pull apart the tabs and take it off as you would a standard diaper.  I also like that they re-stick so when I roll up the dirty diaper I can stick them around it just like I would a standard diaper.

I have been really impressed with how well these diapers hold up. They have a Leak Lock System for leakage protection, and stopping guards around the legs and waist to keep wetness in. It all works! Huggies Slip-On Diapers get Bragging Rights!

I have always been a fan of Diaper Genie systems.  I have used them with both of my babies and love that they make disposing of stinky diapers so easy and keep the bad smells in the pail.

I love this Diaper Pail and it really does lock in odors so well!  My favorite feature is that it opens with a press of your foot and you toss the diaper in.  I really like that I don’t have to press the diaper in with my hand. So much less gross than other pails I have used.

Since I am now enjoying my new diaper pail, I am wondering, how do other brands of refills compare to the Diaper Genie refills?  Brands like Nursery Fresh say on the package “Compare to Diaper Genie Refills”.  But how do they TRULY compare?

I placed both in my Diaper Genie Elite pail and there is a big difference!

The nursery fresh refill doesn’t really even fit in the pail.  It is really hard to push down, and even then doesn’t completely sit where it should.  But the biggest problem I had with it, is that the lid doesn’t even close when the nursery fresh refill is in.  That is not good since the lid needs to be closed to keep those nasty odors out.

Here you can see the nursery fresh refill (above) and the Diaper Genie refill (below) and how the lids look closed with each inside.  The Diaper Genie refill fits perfectly, is very easy to place, and most importantly the lid closes tight.

When you look at the 2 refill packs side by side, you can see that the nursery fresh refill is just flat on top, and the Diaper Genie refill is shaped to create a seal once the lid is closed.

As a mom have you ever left the house without diapers and wipes?

Ahhhhhh it’s the worst.  I always grab the diaper bag but sometimes I forget to re-stock it with the essentials.  Diapers and wipes.  With my first child I was usually pretty good at remembering but with my second I guess because I’m busier, or maybe due to mommy brain (or both) I seem to be a lot more forgetful.

So, we were out on a school supply run (to get the MUST HAVE Amazing Spiderman 2 backpack, yes it had to say 2 on it :/ ) and my daughter decided to fill her diaper.  I HAD NO DIAPER AND NO WIPES! Yikes!  And it couldn’t have just been a little, no she filled the whole thing to the point that we would not be able to make it home or get in the car seat without a huge mess.  Worst feeling.  So as I stood in line trying to figure out what to do.  I was thinking “I might have a swim diaper in the car, and I guess I could wet paper towels from the bathroom”. 

The lady in line in front of me got a wiff of the nice present my daughter had left in her diaper and immediately started checking her toddler.  I told her it wasn’t hers that smelled, it was mine.  Then I began to complain that I didn’t even know what I was going to do since I was tragically diaper-less.  She didn’t hesitate for a second and gave me a diaper (which conveniently was my daughters size) and a bunch of wipes.  She saved the day!  Thank you so much lady in front of me at the store!  You are my hero! I glanced down at the diaper and saw it was Huggies, sweet that’s my favorite brand!

We went into the restroom and I laid my daughter on the changing table.  As I looked at the diaper she had given me I realized not only was it a Huggies diaper, but it was a Huggies Snug & Dry Plus diaper from Costco!  I smiled since I knew I would be writing about these diapers again and I loved knowing my new hero purchases them and I have to admit I was glad it was a good diaper since we still had to check out and get home, and I didn’t need another “event”.

Oh the joys of potty training! It is an up and down process.  There have been several times now that we have begun the potty training process but it didn’t work out.  I thought my daughter was ready, she showed many signs.  But ultimately she wasn’t.  But that is totally fine with me.  I am all about waiting until my child is completely ready to train.  I don’t push it.  It worked great with my son and so I will wait with my daughter.  When she is ready it will happen.  And I am perfectly fine trying and waiting, whatever works for her.

Lately she has been noticing a lot more when she is going potty in her diaper.  She will tell me that she is going.  I am trying to help her to understand that she needs to tell me before she starts going so we can make it to the potty in time.  We have had a few times this round that she has been successful and made it to the potty.  I am so proud of her!

Because it is not a quick process for us to potty train, I am all for wearing training pants.  I can’t have accidents that aren’t easy to clean up (I just don’t have time!).  So Pull-Ups are a must have for us.

My daughter loves the characters on her pack of Pull-Ups.  They feature Minnie Mouse, The Little Mermaid and Monsters Inc.  She was so excited when we opened the pack and she saw all her “friends” on her big girl training pants.

Right now I am loving the Time to Potty app.  It has a timer to help remind you when it’s time to potty. I used to set a timer when I was training my son and it was super helpful.  So I love having an app on my phone that is super easy to use. When a potty break comes you get to celebrate with a mini game (over 40) and some have fun Disney characters.  My daughter loves this and it makes potty training even more fun!  Another great thing about the app is that it automatically adjusts with your child’s progress.  It’s really great.

I received a Party Pack and compensation for hosting my #PampersEasyUps Potty Training Party.  All opinions are my own.

I am always nervous when I start potty training my kids.  With my son I was so afraid, and yet it wasn’t all that bad and he potty trained quickly.  I don’t know why but I was still stressing about my daughter potty training.  But she was giving me the signs that she was ready (see signs in my tips below).  So I knew it was time to potty train her.  We were so excited to celebrate her potty training with a Pampers Easy Ups Potty Training Party!

I added in her favorite character to make it even more fun.  The house looked adorable and so fun for our party.

We had a great time sharing tips for potty training (see below), eating yummy food, and sharing our potty training stories and experiences.

Potty Training Tips from My Guests, Myself & L. Jana MD: 

Wait for Your Child to Be Ready- I cannot stress this one enough.  If you wait for your child to be ready it is SOOOOO much easier to potty train them.  I did this with both of my children and potty training was very easy both times.

Watch for the signs- There are several characteristic signs and developmental abilities you can watch for that suggest children are ready to potty train. These signs of potty training readiness typically include the ability to use their words to express themselves, toddle their own way to the bathroom, pull down their own pants, and to be aware of the sensation of peeing or pooping (characteristically noticeable when young children suddenly stop what they’re doing as they feel themselves start to pee. Or when they start hiding behind the sofa or standing in a corner to poop. It is also helpful (and increases the likelihood of potty training interest) when children start to be bothered by their poopy and/or wet diapers, as that can serve as a good motivation for using the potty instead!

Don’t Be Afraid- It really isn’t as bad as it seems in your mind.  So take a deep breath and relax.  It really will be okay.

Embrace success- As with any learning experience, young children can learn a lot from both their potty successes and their failures. While potty accidents are an inevitable (and admittedly inconvenient) aspect of potty learning, they shouldn’t dominate your day-to-day discussions. Instead, simply help your child learn to cope with (and clean up) any messes and focus your attention on celebrating your child’s successes with plenty of hugs and words of encouragement.

Use Training Pants- I do not like dealing with messes and for me, having a child have an accident in their underwear is so gross and something I do not want to deal with.  When you use *Pampers Easy Ups Training Pants and your child has an accident the clean up is minimal and you can just toss the mess.  Plus, I like to use Pampers Easy Ups even after she is day time potty trained for night times.  That way she is protected from night time accidents but can still easily get the training pants off to use the potty.

Make It Fun- Make potty training an exciting time.  Host a party, give your child rewards and incentives.

Use Books- There are many great potty training books available to help you introduce potty training and encourage potty training with your child.  The book we read at our party was “You and Me Against the Pee” by L. Jana MD.

Start making connections- There’s a lot that you can do to help your child be well-prepared to use the potty successfully long before he actually starts to. Reading fun and engaging children’s books about potty training, such as You and Me Against the Pee! (which I co-authored) can go a long way towards making the idea of potty training a family and eagerly anticipated one. You can take this familiarity a step further by letting your toddler accompany you in to the bathroom when you need to go so that he both becomes familiar with the routine and comfortable with the idea of using the toilet, rather than being afraid of or intimidated by it!

I can complete my order online and even make a shopping list and then receive a text message when my order is ready!

I am not only saving on baby items but I can save money on all of my family items. One thing that I really save money on is milk and bread! I always by milk from Sam’s Club because I know that I can get it for super cheap there. I also really like that I can save money on gas anytime I want to fill up I head to Sam’s Club!

Have you ever had a Nurse that has so completely changed your life or helped you and your most dire need? I have! I was in for bunnion surgery and was having a difficult time.
